I forgot to title this one.

So I spent hours this weekend creating the 2008 and 2009 books pages over there. *points to the right* Who knew it could take 6 hours to code 208 book titles and authors’ names? I spent so much time getting that done that I didn’t even read anything this weekend.

So I went to the BFF’s house last night to watch 24. Jack Bauer is the new Chuck Norris. And also, he’s way hotter than Chuck. No offense to any Chuck fans out there. I like Chuck. He’s an awesome guy. And Jack is fictional whereas Chuck is real. But Jack floats my boat and Chuck doesn’t. Partly because he’s old enough to be my father. But anyway. So, 24 has never been the most reality-driven television show right? But this season we seem to be having to suspend a lot of reality pretty early on. Not that I really mind really.

What I really want to see is an angst showdown between Janice and Chloe. They could sit side-by-side in front of their computers with their little ear pieces in and sigh at each other, roll their eyes, and say stuff like, “Someone’s in my system, I’m locking them out” and “I’m doing the best I can, the satellite is down.” It would make for great tv. Okay, not great, but funny as hell.

My mom made broccoli for dinner but she didn’t drain it and she left the lid on too long and now it’s all mushy and gross. Really, I should just start cooking again.

It’s raining again. For like the 7 billionth day in the past two months. Though I guess I’d prefer rain over the sleet we had this morning but if the temperature drops much more overnight we’re going to have ice anyway. Seriously, I am over winter. If it isn’t going to snow, it just needs to be spring. Unfortunately, Mother Nature does not consult me on these things.

My sis-in-law called a little while ago. She is now an offically state licensed EMT. Now she’s going to school to be a paramedic. I’m not sure what the difference is but whatever, she’s excited and I’m happy for her.

I want to see that movie Push that is coming out. It’s got Chris Evans in it. Yum. It has Dakota Fanning in it too and I think she’s a really good actress for her age. But mostly, I’m concerned about Chris Evans. I’m hoping to talk the BFF into going and seeing it with me. She doesn’t usually do action type movies but I did talk her into seeing Wanted with me so maybe I can talk her into this one too. After all, I did see Sex in the City with her and for that she still owes me.

The Return of the Blog

So, I’m back. Yes, again. I’ve really missed blogging. My one “resolution” this year was to get back into blogging. Since I stopped posting here, I stopped writing my stories and poetry too. It’s like posting all of my everyday crap here freed me up to be a little bit creative and since I’m not getting rid of stuff here, I can’t form a creative thought. Blah.

So, I read 208 books in 2008. It is official, I do need to get out more. But I set a goal of 200 and made it which was pretty satisfying. This year I’m going to stick with a goal of 150 though. 200 was stressful. I think I’ll probably write some about the books I read this year but I don’t know what I’ll write exactly since I don’t really do reviews.

I’m looking at getting promoted this year. *crosses fingers* I hope anyway. My boss says he thinks it could happen in the next 8 to 10 months. But, it will mean relocating. Where exactly I have no idea. Basically the company could move me anywhere they want me to go. I’d like to stay on the east coast and I’d really like to stay within a few hours of my folks in case they need me, but I won’t turn it down if they ask me to go elsewhere. Besides, once I get my foot in the door somewhere, I can always try to come back this way in a couple of years.

I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week. So so so good. If you haven’t seen it, you should. I cried, of course. When don’t I cry at the movies anymore? But it was so good. Not to mention that Brad looked pretty hot somewhere around the middle. The next movie I want to see is Revolutionary Road. It was playing at the only indie theater around here but it is opening in regular theaters this weekend I think. I watched Titanic this weekend just to get a Leo and Kate fix.

I’ve read 14 books already this year. Hm. I didn’t even realize I had read that much already.

I’ve been working on my family tree at ancestry.com. It’s fascinating. And frustrating. It’s also extremely addicting. Sometimes I’ll sit down to work on it for a few minutes and next thing I know it’s been four hours. I’m looking forward to spring so I can go visit some cemetarys down in NC. Yeah, that sounds weird.

Well, I’m off to meet the BFF for some shopping. Her shopping not mine. I hate to shop. But she takes me along when she shops to keep her from spending too much money. I’m sure her husband appreciates it. Toodles ~
